New House, New Puppy, New Life?

New House, New Puppy, New Life?

I’ve meant to write an update on Inkwell for the longest time. These days, my to-do lists only seem to grow. I know I’ve been very inactive, and I apologize. About 3 or 4 months ago, I decided to take the steps to buy my first house. It’s always been a goal, and I’m surprised I was able to find a place I love in this market. But the house was not move-in ready like I’m used to. My childhood best friend also got married in Portland, and it happened to be during the same time I was trying to move. I could write a novel about this move and how hard it has been. But instead I’ll just say I know it’s all worth it and I’ll eventually get caught up or learn to live with the chaos. Right now I don’t have enough storage space and most things need to find a home. I also have just shy of ½ acre, and the upkeep has been time-consuming (I love it, nothing like yard work and landscaping). Right now, I’m focusing on pulling weeds and laying down wood chips. I ordered free wood chips from a company called Chip Drop. It works, but I wasn’t prepared for 15-20 tons of wood chips (picture included below). That is where my spare time and energy have been going. My body hates me.

If the stress of a new house and moving wasn’t enough, I went in to buy cat litter and walked out with a puppy. It was the best happy accident that’s happened in a long time. Her name is Zelda, and I love her so much.

I found out today that new payment subscriptions may not be working. That’s fun. I’m trying to fix it and need to start setting time aside each week to work on the site.

PS. I’m multitasking at work so this may not make a lot of sense but yay for the human brain.
