From what I’ve seen with other platforms they all handle them differently. Wordpress itself leaves the title field blank when posting social notes which causes awkwardness and truncated posts when navigating on a WP site similar to what I was seeing on Inkwell before you fixed the truncating issue. Bluesky ignores the title field altogether. Mastodon reads the first line of the post as the title in bold. Lemmy posts the title as the preview and ignores the body but shows the body once the comment is clicked. I chose to go with the date and time in the title only because they’re intended to be short status messages for my Inkwell page. I’d say go with whatever looks aesthetically better that avoids weird navigation.
Who needs AI or google when you got Eve! That’s amazing. I removed the title on the feed and explore, but created a title RE: + Original Post that will show up on the entry detail page or when you bulk manage Posts. Having the title ‘untitled’ made it feel like an accident or bug.
