What I'm building
Inkwell is a social journaling platform. Think LiveJournal meets MySpace, rebuilt for 2026. No algorithms, no ads, no engagement hacks. You own your space and you write what you want.
It runs on ActivityPub, which means your profile is part of the fediverse. People on Mastodon and other platforms can follow you, read your writing, and interact with your posts without needing an Inkwell account.
The code is open source. The product is opinionated. The goal is to build something worth using, not the next social media platform.

Shipping features based on what the community asks for on the roadmap.
Growing the early user base. Making the platform more useful every week.

A small museum of the old ways
There was a time when having a homepage meant writing your own HTML. You picked your colors, your fonts, your background tile. You added a visitor counter and a guestbook and a "best viewed in Netscape" badge. It was messy and it was yours.
The effects below are all pure HTML and CSS. They work in every modern browser. If you want any of them on your own Inkwell profile, view source and take what you want.
01 — The Marquee
02 — Fire Text
03 — Rainbow Text
04 — RIP <blink>
05 — Visitor Counter
